I have a Rega Elicit-R and with my KEF R300s it sounds beautiful, everything I want in an amp. Agility, precision and great bass control. It's bare bones analogue when compared to the MF, not even a headphone option, something that was to cost me further as I had to buy a standalone headphone amp, but I do love it. Would cost now £1679.

I auditioned the same amp a little while back paired with the Rega speakers (can't remember the model) and I just couldn't seem to like it?
God knows why because, as you say, it's reported to be amazing.
Maybe it was the room or speaker placement but the demo guy wasn't keen on changing anything about how he'd set it up so I walked away.

Just because an amp, or speakers, have very good reviews an individual may simply not like what they hear. We are all different and recommendations are just that, recommendations. The only reviewer that matters is the person listening. That's why auditions are so important, especially where a good dealer will set everything up but not influence you in any way. Perhaps that's why I keep going back to my local AudioT.

You're spot on with that. One man's pleasure is another man's poison.
I've heard plenty of systems over the last few years that their respective owners have raved about but I didn't hear what they heard.
I didn't have the heart to say it when it's been like that so I go through the motions... Shouldn't do that really but don't want to disrespect a person's pride & joy.

Sorry for late reply.I have M6Si and it is spectacular sounding upgrade to the A400 I had for years.MY main source is a Project turntable with a blue Ortofon cartridge and the sound is warm and detailed, for me it’s excellent, I have floorstanding B&W which it drives effortlessly. I‘d recommend listening as it’s all subjective.   One point of note, it is good you have a separate DAC as the one on the MF is not up to it.I use a dragonfly instead between the amp and Zen Innuos and am very happy.
