Anyone using a Nokia 8 Sirocco?

Hi

Bought this the other day and its a stunning phone for the money -paid £350 from Amazon, its RRP is> £500. Its arguably better than my iPhone X for looks & build quality and unlike most Android handsets, its runs an unbloated version of Android (AndroidOne) so all good on that front.

However I seem to be having a major issue with it: the touch screen freezes every so often, ie pressing any icon does nothing and then 5-10 seconds later the phone comes back to life. Already done a hard factory reset and the issue still persists. Is this a 'feature' of the phone or should i return it to Amazon for a replacement? The screen is squeaky clean (no screen protector) & so are my hands.

Cheers

I don't think thats normal, i have a nokia 7.1 bought recently for a very good price, but i do have buyers remorse, when i open a app, it opens then takes a few seconds to load, it's the slowest andriod phone i've used.

I had a Nokia for a while that I used. At first I loved it, and as you say the build quality is fantastic. And I agree with depot, the 7.1 will be fine for some, but anyone used to an X will find it slow and struggling at times. I'm wondering whether the 8 has a similar lack of memory that Android really needs to simulate speed.

And then there is the lack of intergration at nearly every front in AndroidOne even. It is just not that good in my opinion. And even it being an AndroidOne device it doesn't always give you the latest updates. Mine was unlocked, but with a BT Mobile sim in it it wouldn't give Android 9, yet I pop in my wife's 3 sim and bingo the update arrives. Stupid, and still not a clean experience.

Anyone regarding the op I'd check your memory use and available storage first, if it still persists I'd send it in for repair.
