New phone time, not sure which one

Ok, cracked screen on my Galaxy S9 - which is the first damage I've ever done to a phone and I'm a bit gutted to be honest

Anyway, screen repair (by samsung) with genuine screen and new battery is £220 (ish)

The cost to upgrade early via o2 refresh is around £280 - so was thinking upgrade, for £280, sell the broken screen phone for about £70, then possibly take advantage of the current Huawei o2 offer to claim a free smart watch and then sell that (bringing the cost well under the screen replacement, plus I'd have a new phone)

So with all that out the way, P30 pro, P30 ot Mate 20 pro??

This is what I think I've narrowed my choices down to

If I wanted another samsung I'd want the s9 plus or maybe a note 9 which are both expensive on the monthly tariff side of things (I want to keep it under £30 a month without really paying anything upfront)

Any direct comparison on the above at all or end user experience?

Cheers

Are you sure you want to buy a phone with a carrier subscription? If you are satisfied, feel free to go for it but from my experience, it is not wise to commit your self to these kinds of contracts.

I will not tell you which phone you should choose (there are tons of reviews on YT), I ask you a few questions:
What features are you looking for?
Can you take full advantage of these features?
Do you really need a more expansive phone?

Maybe these questions will help you to decide.

Thanks for the pointers, as it happens (through a work discount scheme) the new cost will be cheaper than my current monthly cost with a slightly better tariff as well

If your wanting another Android then certainly the P30 Pro should be on the top of your list.

I’m an iPhone user myself but I was very impressed with the screen and how the P30 Pro looks in my local phone shop, the camera is superb too if that sort of thing is important to you.

I'm pretty much settled on either the p30 pro or the mate 20 pro

I prefer the P30 for it's flat screen, effective higher res screen, and a great size in the hand. The cameras are pretty much the same as the Pro, and I think the 3x tele is probably more use in the real world than the Pro's 5x. Same guts, and battery life amazing (but not quite as good as the Pro). Both great though.

Thanks for the info, as it happens I have just watched a few p30 (non pro) video reviews, I've also spotted the honor 20 as well!!!

The pro looks like a more than originally considered option, it was on my shortlist but I was angling to either of the pro's

Opted for the huawei p30 (non pro)

Will see how I get on
