Huawei P30 - dust IN the front camera

Hi there

I bought a 'nearly new' P30 off eBay a month ago, and it has been a cracker. Really pleased with it.

However, in the last few days I've noticed that the front facing camera has dust IN it, i.e. on the inside of the front screen. This manifested itself when I used the camera to take a 'selfie' and it didn't come out very well, when previously it was fine. Looking through a magnifying glass, you can clearly see the dust there, the other side of the screen.

The phone is IP53, which according to the internet means "Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment; complete protection against contact."

Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think it is worth a warrant claim with Huawei? I've never had to send a phone back under warranty, how long does it usually take....do you know?

Just ask Huawei, you have nothing to lose. May need the seller's help unless Huawei are happy to accept the eBay purchase receipt / listing history screen capture

Thanks, I think you're right I've got nothing to lose. I just hate the idea of having to part with the phone....but equally I'm not keen on having a front camera that doesn't take very good pictures!
