My 13-year-old Nokia 3220...
...has seen better days, but I have a spare; don't want a smart phone. Trouble is, the SIM card is proving extremely difficult to remove. I've tried blutac, spot glue, gaffa tape on the top and then pull, but no joy. Is there a secret? Also, is it possible to get a replacement SIM - with some sort of upgrade, possibly (or not) - with the same number?
Thank you. You can normally prise them out with a small screwdriver - but do check if that model has a locking SIM cover that needs pushing up or down to unlock first.
You can get a SIM from your mobile provider and move the number over. You may be able to get a better deal if you only want calls and texts, it depends what your current contract or PAYG rate is. Just go into a mobile phone shop and ask them to change it over. Show them the phone, it's probably almost as old as some of the employees... Almost! Many thanks. No cover, as such, more a slot to slide SIM into. Just won't budge, even if I gently try to start it of with the point of a very sharp knife. You should be able to port the number to a new sim even if you cannot remove the old one. A mobile phone shop for the network you are on should be able to sort you out. this may help: Sim Card And Battery; Remove The Back; Cover And Battery; Insert The Sim Card - Nokia 3220 User Manual Many thanks for that. Maybe it will, I certainly didn't press any release mechanism. Will try later or in morning and report back. Just before I have another look, could someone kindly tell me whether Organiser details (To Dos, Reminders and so on) are on the phone or SIM. Thanks. They are on the phone. The SIM can store a limited number of texts and your phone book. What's actually on the SIM will depend on the phone settings. Sorted! Thanks for assistance.
