You should try playing AC Odyssey if I turn hyperrhreading off it maxes the cpu.. yeah guess you’re gonna say it’s crap optimisation but most pc games are now. What cpu are you running and trust me more games are starting to use cpu, I understand why some people would want a lesser spec but I didn’t so i got it.Amd are defo the way forward for sure..

im running an 8086k. its never been maxxed out with gaming and i haven't done muchvideo editting so i basically wasted a bit of cash data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Ideally with my current setup I could have saved:
£150 on RAM
£200 on processor
£100 on amp and dacby getting some fidelio X2s

I'm all about value for money and buying components which will actually affect gaming performance consistently rather than a tech spec sheet.

then you can pump that cash into a monitor

Which ultrawide have you got? Is it worth spending the money on the size as opposed to to putting that money towards Hz and/or resolution instead?

aoaaron Publish time 27-11-2019 05:40:01

You can get ultrawide monitors which have the hz of most top-tier reccomended 16:9 monitors.

Most ultrawides go up to 120hz. Even my huge CRG9 does 120hz and 144hz with the right settings.

Is it better than pixel density? Only you can answer that one sadly. I think there definitley is a case for 4k because its so sharp and beautiful but I personally would rather have the extra width as its literally SOOO immersive. Whilst 4k.. is just 4k.

Theres a cool video comparing the three resolutions. 16:9 to me looks soooooooo cramped.

Up to you sorry know it doesn’t help.I’ve got the LG 34K950G 21:9 and I moved from a 32 4k 16:9 screen and defo enjoy the Ultrawide more and reduces the overhead on the gpu a little
