Is this gaming PC any good... About to order it
Hi hope you can help, my daughter is about to spend £1500 of her hard earned cash on this computer,OcUK Tech Labs Coffee Lake Midi Tower Gaming PC Configurator
Could you have a look and see what you think, I've got no idea but as a father I think that at least I should try to stop her making a mistake.
I've managed to put her off for 12 months but her budget keeps going up, was £800 then £1200 now£1500 so I think if I put her off again she'll spent even more money on one....
Cheers Yes, it is ok, a bit expensive, but OCUK do build the pcs well. She could get better for the same budget by building it herself, but that obviously depends on her knowledge or having people to help her. Seems pretty expensive to me, £1500 and only a 1660ti isn't great. A lot of the cost would be the 8700K and motherboard. It's a dead end platform at this stage and would make much more sense to go with a Ryzen 3600. It performs the same and can be upgraded to a much better processor further down the line unlike the Intel platform. Can you even oc on B360 chipset? I’d have a look on PC Specialist and pick one of the Ryzen 3600 builds with a better graphics card, personally. Just configured this one on Cyberpower:

There's loads of options but this is a solid cpu/motherboard combo and it has a RX 5700. It's just a starting point for the type of pc I'd go for in this budget. You can add monitors to the spec too. where is she based?
a generally build all my friends machines so maybe she knows someone who can help her?
the most important thing which nobody has askedis what is she going to be using the machine for? Thanks for your replies I've just let her know what you have all said.
She doesn't have the knowledge or patience to build her own.
The games that she's playing now are ...Mobas,League of Legends,Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard.... Don't mean anything to me lol I stripped my PC down to add watercooling last weekend. The process took 2 hours. Scan seem better value for money for pre built systems. Your Link isn't working duncfunk, just a page saying that "your shopping cart is empty" but I've passed on your information to her
