HDD Replacement Advice
Good Afternoon,My original 2Tb Samsung HDD drive has just died and I'm after your assistance to choose a replacement.
I currently have 2 3Tb HDD and 2 SSD, one 1Tb and one 2Tb.
I am looking at replacing with another larger capacity (4 or 6Tb) or should I go with another SSD?
I would welcome your thoughts and advice

if dont' have a budget or can afford a 2tb SSD , go with that ,
or have you considered a SSHDSeagate 2TB 3.5" SATA3 FireCuda Hybrid SSHD ST2000DX002

One of the 3TB HDD in my NAS failed earlier this week. I also wanted to expand the capacity so I purchased a 6TB "WD My Book" external USB drive, removed the HDD from the enclosure and put it in my NAS.
I'll need to buy another 6TB HDD to make use of the full capacity but I can wait till black Friday as there's usually good deals on the USB external drives. Hey, my old WoT buddy. I've bought an 8Gb WD My Book.
I've also learnt a new term 'shucking'. Some of the Urban Dictionary entries are a little eye opening https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/joypixels/[email protected]/png/64/1f601.png I picked up a 6TB WD Elements so I can bring my Synology NAS up to 6TB capacity with a pair of 6TB drives.
The WD Elements was easier to get into than the WD My Book but my spare 3TB drive won't quite fit into the empty Elements case. It uses molded rubber corner mounts. The My Book uses rubber mounts screwed into the sides of the HDD. I'd always game from a hdd. They are very cheap now and an ssd won't make your game run any better
I've just bought some new kit today to upgrade my pc in preparation for the 3080ti next year. I got the Asus maximus 11 and thought it was time to get a ssd. So I opted for the sabrent 1tb rocket. It looks phenomebal value at £110. So maybe this m2 ssd is worth a look for yourself It will however improve loading times, A LOT! SSD's are what all your games should be on, not an HDD.
Why a buy 3080ti when surely you wont need to buy a new card for years seeing as your current card maxxes everything out at 4K (as you keep telling us).
Actually, your HDD comment makes sense now......
