Confusion
Hello,I never stayed much in touch with Nintendo products, but its my daughter birthday soon and I was thinking of getting her a ds. I was going to get the ds lite, will this play all the new games still or does it only play the older ones. She is only coming 5 and her friend has the 3ds and she couldn't get it to work properly so I was going to get the non 3d one. Wasn't sure if the ds was as good as the dsi or or the 2ds its a bit confusing how many versions there is of this product and when googling cannot seem to get a straight answer. Just wanted to get a cheaper product as she is that age as she does tend to break a lot of stuff
Many thanks guys @tompop If she can't get on with the 3d games then the 2ds is what you'll want as that plays all 3ds games in 2d and is backward compatible with the rest of the ds library. The ds lite is an older system which although has an extensive library will not play newer games. The 2ds will
Cheers
Saf This is quite possibly the best answer that could have been given to him.

Many thanksdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Haha good stuff! You're very welcome mate.
Hope whatever decision you make turns out to be the best one for you and your daughter. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Shame the 2ds looks like a 2 by 4 with a screen. It's really an ugly thing.
@tompop Your daughter will grow up one day and she'll want to be one of the cool kids with a 3ds.You can always turn off the 3d feature. The 3ds is way more compact too so it will be easier to transport.
