BBC iPlayer on Wii (original) not working

This used to play a few months ago but now iPlayer appears to work but only the programme titles load - then just get spinning circles - any reason why please?

Nintendo shut down a lot of he Wii services, But iPlayer SHOULD be unaffected.

Tried updating iPlayer via shop and it said "updating" but it was still a 2009 version - I wonder if the beeb have changed something to mess it up?
