Are Nintendo done with the Amiibo's?
Just wondering if anyone knows, are Nintendo are done with amiibo's? Unless I am mistaken, there has been no Switch game related amiibo tie in's has there? And nothing as far as I am aware has been announced.Amiibo's seem to have slowly winded down and the last one was probably the large Detective Pikachu one when that 3DS game came out.
Is there something similar going to be coming along perhaps, with a new name and bit of marketing? Most recent have been the two new Splatoon 2 amiibo for the upcoming DLC.

There haven’t really been any new game titles released that warrant new amiibo.
That’ll probably change when Smash Bros Ultimate & the new Mario Party come out. I was forgetting the 3 x Odyssey amiibo's. Surprised they only did 3 for that game, thought they would have milked it more with all those Mario outfits, caveman Mario etc. Still time for them to do some Mario Tennis amiibo's perhaps. The new Smash characters will almost certainly get new Amiibo. I'm sure they've got others in the pipeline. I forgot about the Dark Souls amiibo that is coming for the Dark Souls remaster

Mii's are an integral part of some of the kids games like Tamodochi Life. I like the Mii's in MK7/MK8 myself. The Amiibo's if you like them or not are voluntary purchase, so probably no need to consign them to history? I think most kids like Amiibo's and many adults. I restricted our household to just approx. 50 amiibo's, which sounds a lot, but could have been a lot more! Amiibo's while still being produced are less frequent than before, it does feel like they are winding down, but there is no doubt something similar but new around the corner? 10.3m amiibo figures sold last year & 5.8m amiibo cards sold last year. Even if they only made £2 profit on each figure/card (probably a higher margin), that’d be over £30m profit. There’s no way they’d drop them as it’s easy money.

The only reason it feels like Nintendo aren’t releasing many amiibo is because they don’t have any titles out recently with 58 characters that would necessitate a constant flood of amiibo being released very quickly. My order is on its way from the Nintendo store *scratches record deck* Playasia have the Ridley & Star Wolf amiibo (& others) up for preorder
