Question Xbox one not detecting Amazon Fire stick

Hi,

I'm trying to run my Amazon Fire stick through my Xbox One but after seeing the Amazon logo it's now saying the tv signal is lost.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Try manually setting the display resolution on the Fire stick with it plugged straight into the telly.

Then plug it into the Xbox, the stick display settings are set to auto detect by default.

Hi,

The problem seems to be when I connect the Xbox to my Optoma HD33 projector. When it's plugged into the TV it's fine.I've tried a HDMI splitter but no joy.

If it works with Xbox & TV but doesn't work when plugged into the Optoma then it must be the combo of the Xbox and Optoma.

Yeah that's a tricky one to resolve, my best guess is the EDID (resolution data) embedded in the HDMI port of the Optoma is probably passed by the Xbox to the FireTV stick but it's not understanding it for some reason.

HDMI splitters or switches can sometimes act as a basic fix to EDID issues (being sort of a dummy TV with it's own EDID), I assume that was the intent, were did you place it as it should be sitting between the FireTV and Xbox HDMI input. Then connect your Xbox output to the Optoma.
