X1X No 10bit available

So I've been using an old Phillips soundbar with my One X, but a week ago upgraded to a Yamaha yas-107.
I've got my One X connected via HDMI to the soundbar, then another hdmi to my TV so I can benefit from arc (TV is a Samsung ue55mu8000). I've done it this way so I can passthrough Blu-ray sound from the One X direct and let the sound bar work it's magic to create faux surround using its DTS VirtualX processing.
It sounds great.
However... Although the soundbar is advertised as having 4k HDR passthrough, my only options on the One X are now 8bit or 12bit colour. 10bit seems to have disappeared.
Now as my TV has a native 10bit VA panel I guess I would want it to receive 10bit to use it to is full potential.

Has anyone else come across losing the 10bit colour option on their One X? I was using it before when previously my One X was direct hdmi connected to my TV, so I know it should be there.

I've tried changing loads of settings both on the One X and on the TV but can't get it to reappear.

Any help would be appreciated.

Considering the soundbar doesn't decode HD sound formats I guess it would be better to connect the One X via HDMI to the TV and then connect hdmi to the soundbar from the TV? That way I would again get the 10 bit option on the One X, and still get Dolby Digital or DTS passthrough from the TV (TV does passthrough via HDMI arc - I checked before).
If this correct?
What do you think?

Has the soundbar got an optical input?

One X hdmi to tv > then optical out on the x to the soundbar. Then nothing needs to be passed through and is direct connected.

If the soundbar doesn’t support HD formats you won’t have lost anything
