Question Xbox One 4K problem through Marantz AVR
I'm having a problem connecting my XB1 to my TV through my marantz 6012. I've tried putting the xb1 straight into the TV and I'm getting 4K. The problem is when I plug it in to my AVR I just get a 'no signal' on my TV when I have the Xbox on anything over 1080p. I've tried messing around with the Video settings on the marantz to no avail.I've also tried using a different HDMI cable, a QED one I use for my 4k Blu-ray player and I still get the same results, The TV says 'resolution not supported' .I've tried setting the Xbox to lowest resolution running it through the AVR and that works but when I try setting it to 1440p and above the XB1 says my TV doesn't support the resolution.
I'm thinking the AVR is doing something to the signal before it goes to the TV but I've tried all settings possible AFAIK that could affect the signal. Its worth noting that I get Audio from the XB1 through my AVR.There is a pass through option in settings and that is on but that only applies to what the AVR does in stand by mode, I've changed the 4K option backwards and forwards from standard to enhanced as well and I'm still not getting any where.
I had a similar problem with my Panasonic UB400, I was getting a 'no signal' from my TV until I pressed play on a blu ray and then it played fine, it just didn't want to display the home screen, even while watching a Blu-ray if I pressed the home button it would lose signal. I managed to sort that out by taking my BR player upstairs onto my other 4k TV, lowering the resolution settings then setting it back up then having the BR Player detecting my TV which worked fine.

10 mtr Amazon basics CL3 rated high speed HDMI cable I took a look at the manual and this is what I would do.
1) Go to settings\general\firmware and check if there is a firmware update for the receiver, if so install it.
2) Do a factory reset, instructions on page 262 of the manual or look under tips in online manual.
3) Under video mode (page 180) you have auto, game or movie, select game.
4) Under video conversion (page 180) set this to off.
5) Under resolution (page 181) change from auto to 4K (60/50), this is where the AVR probes the TV for supported resolutions.
6) Under 4K signal format (page 183) change it from standard to enhanced.
7) TV should be connected to monitor 1 output on the AVR.
8) YCC422 should be enabled on the Xbox in it's video settings.
If you are still getting nothing try these brand HDMI 2.0 cables instead of the Amazon basic ones. Hi next010,

I have exhausted every instruction on your list to no avail. I have the xb1 on and working but anything over 1080p and I get the same message on my TV.
The only thing I haven't tried is buying the 2.0 cable you suggested although I have tried 3 different hdmi cables including as mentioned the QED cable I'm using for my BR player.
I have now emailed Marantz support as I'm sure it's something to do with the reciever. As mentioned above I have successfully set up the Xb1 connected straight to my TV with a 4K signal the problem is my reciever is a good 8 feet away in a DIY corner storage unit. My TV foes have ARC but only on HDMI 3 and 4K UHD Color only on HDMI 1 so I am stumped there too!! Hopefully marantz will be able to rectify the problem

James Well it wont fix the Marantz problem but this HDMI switch is 4K/HDR and ARC compatible, that will give you 5 ports from the single one built into the TV. Of course your limited to 5.1 audio with ARC but that should do the trick and at least gets things working. I actually have a switcher somewhere that I bought not so long back before I bought the marantz so I'll dig it out. I didn't know arc was limited to 5.1 but I've just installed a 5.2.4 system and ofcourse the XBOX is now Atmos compatible. I just have to stick to 1080p until the issue is resolved!! Thanks for the link Marantz customer spprt have emailed me a Hdmi diagnosis instructions manual I am having very similar problems with a Denon AVR X4200W... Contact Denon and find out how to run diagnostics. I have whittled it down to the 10 mtr HDMI cable I bought off Amazon that quoted it was capable of 4k at 50/60fps where as Marantz hdmi diagnosticsHDMI diagnostics tells me it's only capable of 1080p.
I have taken this up with Amazon who have so far issued me with a full refund so far which I have told them is only the start. My case is going up to a senior level. It was indeed the cable from the AVR to the TV. after spending some time I found a certified one on eBay that is long enough 6M And now everything works perfectly.
