Question Xbox One X, Brand New for Xmas, Black screen of death??
Powered on tonight, no picture, swapped HDMI cables and inputs to TV, Tried the power down via front button for 10 seconds, still the same, when I first power it on there's a "clunk" noise that I can't say I've noticed before, anybody have any idea, is this a know bad unit issue???? Thanks, Willie. Additional info, can hear HDD noise when I'm up close and personal with the unit, even after shut down, it's still making that accessing noise you hear from a mechanical drive. If it's brand new then return it, sounds like it's broken. When you power up and get the black screen, what happens if you press the Xbox button on the controller?Reason I ask, last couple of days. Mine is showing a black screen on the dash. But if I press the Xbox button on the controller I get the mini dash appear and can launch games and apps. I eventually get messages that there’s a problem and to try again in a bit or the full dash eventually appears. Thanks to both @King Tones & IamMarcoos, so given the time of night and I knew people would be asleep/gameing ect I switched the unit off at the wall to see what whould happen, left it appropriately 1 minute, then plugged it back in and after a few seconds powered it on via the pad, everything started up as normal, the dull clunk of the HDD was followed by a more normal quick succession of HDD reading noises.
