PS4 pro VR HDR workaround
Hi everyone just put my proverbials on the line and have pre ordered an A1 Oled.Quietly excited as the current unit is a 10 year old 42 inch set.
I've got a PS4 pro and started doing a bit of digging for info - have seen articles stating that you have to disconnect the VR headset to watch HDR content as the converter VR comes with can't handle HDR pass thru which seems an appalling oversight by Sony.
Has anyone else come across this yet and if so is there a workaround?
Really don't fancy having to keep pulling hdmi cables in and out each time - as well as being rack mounted and hidden away I wouldn't of thought the sockets are designed to be constantly hot swapped.
I can take the fact there's no Blu Ray 4k playback - just...but this seems just plain mad. I would like to know the answer to this as well From what ive experienced the VR box causes a black screen every now and again. Even when your not using the VR. Ive heard people buying splitters etc to solve this, personally i just disconnect the VR box when im not using. Its a pain but it does resolve this. I hardly use my PSVR due to having to swap the cables-played it at launch & only a few time since then (still keep buying the games for it though!!)
I'm surprised that a 3rd party hasn't come up with some solution yet, be it a replacement breakout box or switch - oh for the days of Lik-Sang when we might have had a solution by now !!
