It doesn't connect to the PS3 at all, it accepts the IR signals converts them to blue tooth and sends that out, which the PS3 picks up, much like it picks up the wireless controller.

All you need to worry about is powering the IR2BT, either batteries or a usb powered socket such as skyHD and having a line of sight with your IR remote control.

Theres always power to the skyHD usb socket so just use that, alternatively batteries can be used or any other usb socket with power.

Excellent.

I regularly put the Sky HD box into standby but as you've confirmed the USB socket is still live on standby, that'll be the option for me.

Cheers.

EDIT:In reply to the below.Sorry Kryptix, I completely missed you saying there was no Sky HD power when in standby.Glad it seems to be available now though.

Yep, sorry. Regarding Sky HD, it seems that I'm getting power now. I wasn't when I made the video which is a little strange!

Thanks very much for your help guys. I don't have any USB devices nearby to power it, does the product come with a USB power adapter, or would this have to be purchased separately? I take it 3-4 weeks is the nearest time it will be in stock.

You'll need to buy a USB to mini-USB lead, and an adapter so you can use it via the mains... or just use 2x AA batteries.

If you want one get in the queue early rather than waiting for them to be in stock - they're only made in small batches.

Takes a while to get them.. Mine was dispatched on the 7th and it hasn't even left the US yet!
