IR2BT is now taking orders!

First of all, I'm not in on this project or involved anyway. Just been a fan for awhile and been following the process. It is now available to order from http://www.IR2BT.com. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

It converts IR signals from any universal remote to Bluetooth signals which the PS3 understands.

This is a flawless way to control your PS3 with your Harmony remote, or whatever.

There has been 2 video's released regarding IR2BT.

Video 1 (Little Intro):

Video 2 (Powering and Pairing):

It's $55, and another $20 to be shipped outside of America. It's quite expensive, but it really is the best on the market.

I know lots of you have been waiting for it to become available, and it finally has in the last 5 minutes. I'll be ordering 2 tomorrow.

Use this thread for discussions and what-not. data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

EDIT: I just checked, and the order form isn't even on the main page yet (Bruce only posted it on the forum).

The URL is: http://www.ir2bt.com/cart

Will this work for all IR controllers? I have the Marantz RC5400.

Well, I'm not sure how your RC works, but I don't see why not... It uses PS2 codes so if you can learn IR codes from another device then, yeah! Sign up to the forums and stick a post up -- someone will know.

That's great! How exactly does it work though? Where does the "block" go?

Levi3D Publish time 27-11-2019 00:41:08

It converts your infra red remote control signal (as normal used by TV/Video/DVD/Sky etc) into Blutooth, as used by PS3. So you can get a programmable remote control and control everything from 1 remote.

As it's Blutooth, which doesn't need to be directional - the only consideration will be that it's in line with your infrared remote control.

So the answer is, wherever you point the remote control - probably under/next to the TV somewhere

Well done with the thread. Will definitely be getting one of these at some point.Seems the tidiest solution currently.

Might be a good idea to pop a link to that alternative shutdown sequence on this thread?

Cheers.

Thank you, so does it connect to the PS3 directly? I'm not sure how it works by just sitting there, or does it act like a kind of bridge between the harmony and the ps3?

Cheers - whilst it's not a massive issue it does sometimes annoy me I can't use my Harmony to switch on and off..this will fix that so I'll most defo pick one up next time I'm in the US data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

@ Kryptix - I note you power your IR2BT via the Sky HD USB socket.

Is this socket still powered when the HD box is on standby?

If not, do you reckon something like this will be ok?

http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/10521.htm

Input: AC100V-240V. 50Hz 130mA
Output: DC5.0V ± 5%. 500mA ± 50mA

Or would I need to find one that matches the official US model's voltage exactly?
