See this is what is pissing me off with this the generation of consoles.... It's the it will do until they bring a new one out maybe next Christmas which will be a slight upgrade... Which is why they are leaving little things out so they can add later and get more money... I preferred the 5-10 year cycle.

System seems good but as I don't have a 4K and/or HDR TV and AV Reciever I don't have the kit to make use of it... however if games like BF1 are confirmed to go from 900p to 1080p (and stick closer to 60fps) then I might be tempted for an upgrade but right now I don't think I could make use of it.
I know some games like Rise of the Tomb Raider are confirmed to be better at 1080p with the PS4 Pro but I don't see that being a game I play long term so I'm waiting on some information about BF1 and other multiplayer player games.

Or maybe just save the money and wait for Scorpio instead.data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
EDIT:I'm a bit conflicted about PS4 Pro, as a UHD Bluray would have made the sale for me... but perhaps I need to become a more serious gamer!

Not sure if I'd bother with the PS4 Pro quite yet, but I do like the HDR firmware update news. Im using a pretty old (2008) Sony 40 inch LCD for my PS4 currently. Its got incredibly low input lag but I've been thinking of upgrading it for a while now.
Is there actually anything on the market right now (OLED aside) that fulfills the role of providing HDR content and 4K (for when I eventually do go PS4 Pro/Scorpio?) with low input lag?
One thing I noticed was that many reviews dont tend to point out the fact that gaming mode often improves input lag but drops the HDR capability, which is obviously something I would want in order to make the most of the firmware update coming to my current console.

For those of us that don't have a PS4 (I'm a high-end PC gamer) the PS4 Pro makes sense to me as not massively more expensive that the standard PS4 for getting better 1080p gaming graphics/fps for games I can't play on my PC.
If I already had a PS4 then I'm sure I wouldn't bother. I don't have a 4K TV but do intend to connect this to my Asus Rog Swift IPS 1440p 27" Monitor I use with my gaming PC (PC connected via DP and PS4Pro can connect to its HDMI).
I'm not interested in current VR other than the GearVR I got free with Samsung phone. The pixilation/screen door means I will await 4Kversions in the coming years.
Have a pre-order in with Amazon (is that the best idea or elsewhere?? At least Amazon don't charge until shipped & easy to cancel/return).
The 1TB PS4Pro is only £40 more expensive than the 1TB PS4 Slim so a no-brainer to get the Pro for new first time PS4 buyers.

The Samsung KS range has the lowest input lag of any of latest 4K HDR TV's. They are around 20.5ms in game mode and according to RTINGS, only increase to 22.6ms (that's just two thousands (0.002s) of a second) with a HDR source. That's still better than the 'best of the rest' TV's which are around 35ms - the B6 OLED is around 55ms according to reviews. Of course we can't confirm that ourselves yet as no game has HDR compatibility yet...

I will be upgrading my old XB1 to Scorpio anyway but as that doesn't come out for a year, the PS4 Pro is still the best option for right now - well as far as console gaming is concerned. I have a 4k HDR TV and whilst it would have been nice to have a 4k HDR Bluray player, I can't remember the last time I watched a Bluray let alone used my console for anything other gaming. If you are a serious movie buff, then you wouldn't buy the XB1s as you dedicated Bluray player as it doesn't offer Dolby Atmos or HD sound (I believe - at least not yet). The consoles are also often not as quiet as a dedicated bluray player either.
Yes I would have preferred to have a 4k HDR Bluray player but gaming performance is far more important and the sole reason I buy consoles...

I pre-ordered from Amazon too but the cheapest I have seen is only 14p cheaper (ShopTo) so didn't bother cancelling...

Thanks. Reading this digital foundry article: Digital Foundry: the best 4K TVs for HDR gaming
...had put me off the Samsung as they claim that you only get HDR in movie mode, and that has a really bad input lag. So I find myself stuck!

I've pre ordered my Pro console
Want a PS4 again (I'm pc only atm and enjoying it but also want console)
Seemed silly to get a quick fix of the new slim when for £100 more the pro will be the better buy.
I have a 4k tv but not HDR compatible but it will do!
