No sound from PS4 pro via receiver
Hi guys,I do hope someone can help me out as I am feeling quite frustrated with me not being able to hear any sound from the PS4 pro and my Yamaha YSP 2700 soundbar.
My set up is:
Samsung NU8000 Tv connected to Yamaha receiver via HDMI Arc - I have my virgin cable box, my Nvidia shield and my new ps4 pro all connected to the Yamaha receiver and both Virgin and Nvida work great through the receiver. However - the ps4 pro signal cannot be found on the 3rd HDMI port on the receiver and only works by connecting it directly to the back of the TV and even then the sound doesn't work when i connect via optical (not ideal either)
So I was wondering whether anyone had experienced this issue before? I have tried the following:
1. Turn off CEC
2. Unplug ARC from receiver and just leave optical in
3. Switching over ports for the other HDMI's at the back of the receive- they all work.
4. Running through all possible sound options on the PS4 sound settings
Really looking forward to any extra advice/solutions data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Thanks,
Mark When you say you've run through all the sound settings on the PS4 have you gone Settings -> Sound and Screen -> Audio output settings and checked that the primary output port is set to HDMI OUT. Also to start with I'd set the audio format to Linear PCM and see if that works.
Also somewhere there is an output voltage if you hold the PS button on the controller.
I'm thinking that either the PS4 isn't outputting via HDMI or that its set to Dolby/DTS that your soundbar can't decode.
Do you have another tv you could test on? and another HDMI lead ? Solved now data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
