Thanks, pity really, I guess perhaps when Pi 4 comes along we may see an improvement.

Blimey I've watched a lot of videos of arcade sticks!

Got two options I think (or I could make my own I guess)

This one which is small and seems pretty good but no turbo button
PS4 Fighting Stick Mini: Amazon.co.uk: PC & Video Games

This one which is not much bigger, has turbo but apparently quite loud to use (though not sure how loud exactly)
Universal Fighting Stick for PC/PS2/PS3 (USB): Amazon.co.uk: PC & Video Games

I'm thinking turbo could be useful for those shoot em ups like R-Type data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

This one is a bit more than I'd want to pay (won't use it that much) but looks very nice

Here we go with the newbie questions...

Got the 8bitdo SNES pad - its great and seems exactly the same as old one. Its supposed to be wireless but I have to plug it in with the lead for it to work? Is this right?

Whats the weird temperature icon top right when playing ganes? Is this normal? Dont think it was there before but it is now.

How does the Pi connect to net? Has to be via ethernet cable I presume? I havenr seen anything to connect via wi-fi.

Impressive
I'd love something like this.

I have the 8bitdo FC30 pad - just got it connected. If it's bluetooth then you go into the retropie setup and configure the bluetooth - just follow the instructions on their wiki (presuming you have a Ri3 with bluetooth.

I have Ethernet in mine but you can connect via wifi.

I ended up just getting a 64Gb image downloaded so starting with that and then removing the systems I don't want.

Thanks. Being lazy lol. Ill have a look at the wiki when I get a chance.

I did build my own and started to populate but just don't have the time at the moment so a pre-built image was the way to go data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Still got some things to tweak but looking good so far.

All the retropie info is on github so just Google for that.

I had a look at the SFC 30 pad configuring on a youtube video. Jeez. I wasn't expecting to program the bloody thing! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 It seems really long-winded in this day and age. Maybe I'll do it at some point. Thing is, he was used to the keyboard shortcuts and I haven't even used the command prompt yet so I cant help thinking its gonna be hard work. Might just leave it wired! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Shouldn't have to program it, unless you mean the buttons for each emulator?
To get it working via Bluetooth I just went to the retropie setup and found it, then changed two settings I think for 8bitdo controllers and all working data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

It's this:

8Bitdo Controller · RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup Wiki · GitHub

You do have to enter in the buttons when first setup but that's it.
