Grainger Games going into Administration?
Trouble brewing for independent UK shop chain Grainger GamesTypical that I'd order a couple of things from them and now this.... It's long overdue in my opinion. Like Game, they represent really poor value for money on 99% of things and are notorious for sending out used items as brand new. Got to big for their boots and lost their way trying to mimic GAME i read yesterday a few stores had closed so decided to go to my local today in st helens see what they had, as above find it a little over priced like Game but might have stumbled across a bargain...
Anyway all the lights were on but shutters down with a sign saying all shops are now closed!
I find it strange as all the sheves are full, i assume they must reopen to sell the stock off? Maybe some bargains to be had if that opens.
Although I feel it is a bit pricey I do find it sad another gaming shop is closed, its becoming very limited on where to buy now on the high street!
I miss when supermarkets first got in on games and sold new releases cheap! I even miss gamestation, most of the shops had a funny smell but priced up okdata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 All stores gone as off today. Not surprised. Head office was full of brand new Audi’s no doubt all company funded. I think it’s got to the point now where online is the only viable way to get physical games at a decent price. Game and HMV are pretty useless, and the Supermarkets are pretty hit and miss, but more often miss. I generally go digital now, as the PlayStation store has good sales pretty regularly. find it mad how it has stores full of stock and nothing is getting sold?
hopefully they reopen for clearance, i want a cheap switch! Administration means everything is frozen and assessment carried out before decision made.
Could be that some stores trade stock, could be that a third party buys the lot etc. Reddit has posts showing the email sent to each shop asking them to pack up items to be returned to a central location. So not looking good for closing down sales. It's probably being sold on as a job lot to pay creditors.
