I found the Genesis versions of nine of the games, including Contra, in the Korean language section.

So what’s the frame rate?
Have they actually gone and brought us into the 21st Century or are we still penalised with PAL 50hz?

It's the PAL versions at 60Hz. I think the Mega drive/Genesis was, sort of, multi region. You could play a genesis game on a pal console, and it would pay at 50Hz, and you could play a megadrive game on a Genesis and it would run at 60Hz.

The main game i want is Ghouls and Ghosts.
