still not got anythink back so rang this morning andthey said the part has just came
once this is fitted it will be send back to me
they are saying they are putting a new deck in
not sure what that is?

any advice had unit for 6 weeks now yet to watch a dvd yet
LG are a waste of space! doesn't surprise me and I think they must have a real problem as I carn't believe they are all faulty. As I said earlier, I tried three new ones and they were all the same. I rang LG twice and they just kept saying it should play and take it back to Currys. Thats why I gave up in the end and changed to Panasonic. Just keep on at LG until you get somewhere, if you can be bothered that is!
hi all first time posting on here. i have the lg ht554ph,i am really pleased with it all the dvds and ps3 games i have played/watched have produced great surround sound.
recently tho when watching district 9 which has hd dts master and true hd. i could only get sound out the front speakers.same with normal tv from sky hd box.is there a way to distripute the sound evenly though all the speakers.
also i have heard to get the best sound you would have to connect the ps3 to lg via hdmi.but the lg only has 1 hdmi socket so how would i then connect to my tv, currently i have ps3 connected to lg via opticle.
and last question would it be possible if i could get hold of them,to connect another pair of lg tallboy speakers to replace the two small left and right speakers.

hi guys,
have the above system and was able to kinda set free the dts with a code i found somewhere here, not sure where tough. you might want to try that then, i am able now to hear dts sound and wasnt before.
Turn on system (no disc)
1. go to setup>audio
2. turn off vocal
3. return to main screen with big LG logo in centre
4. Press 'Pause' button, 1,4,7,2
A service menu appears
1.Press 'up' cursor until scroll across to second from last number on top row (think was e1)
2. change e1 to e9 by holding 5 a bit longer (gives you the e) and pressing 9
3. press enter
BTW, has anybody got a hack to make it codefree? have loads of american dvds that i cant watch now data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 please pm me if you have. Help is much appreciated.

All you have to do is press the button vsm on your remote to have dts press 5 times on vsm and will have dts enabled
