Exploding E-Cigarette
Stay safe out there guys data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7Exploding E-cig battery caught on Leeds Trinity CCTV - BBC News
https://www.avforums.com/attachments/upload_2016-12-21_20-4-11-png.801648/ Simple solution, don't put you battery in the same pockets as keys or coins! Or get a battery box to put them in then there's no issue then...I'd rather a bulky pocket over a burnt leg. Right, here we go again. This is not an E-Cig exploding, it is a loose battery exploding.
Im dont know if you are a vaper or not but if you are please dont propogate such nonsense, it does vaping no favours. paraphrasing the late, great Bill Hicks, it's like the guys on LSD who can fly. Try it from the ground first! don't ruin it for the rest of us (I say that as a vaper and not a tripper!)
I have to admit when I got my first set of 18650s, I didn't know contact with metal objects cause this issue, but I was supplied with cases and bought extras from ebay
there are still the occasional issues caused (this doesn't specify what the li-ion batteries were used for)
London Fire Brigade - Walthamstow – battery pack blaze
but then again, I think on the same page, they have 3 fires caused by irresponsible discarding of cigarettes simply a misuse as with anything really. these are very powerful batteries used in e-cigs and one must handle them with respect and caution
