Tinned food

If tin is bashed is it safe to eat?

If tin is opened how long can you leave food in it and still be ok to eat?

Not too sure about the tin bashing but mum always used to tell me to take remaining food out of the tin and store it by other means, rather than leaving it in the tin.

You should not store food in an opened tin.
