Powerhouse Fitness & Fitness Superstore
HiDoes anyone have any experience of either of these two companies?
Ive been looking at a couple of cross-trainers & spoke to someone at Powerhouse today who was helpful enough but seemed to recommend their Bodymax line over others such as Proform.
I've e-mailed Bodymax directly with a query and got an auto-response from Powerhouse, which did confirm my suspicions that they were somehow linked.
I've seen mixed reviews for both online, but more-so Powerhouse, although their Amazon feedback seems more consistent.
Any advice welcomeddata:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Cheers To comment on Fitness superstore, they were a bit naff for me on the customer service.
I had a spin bike that had a fault within two weeks of receiving it. FS didn't want to know and sent me to the manufacturer. The bike was ultimate replaced however that was also faulty. After a couple weeks of arguing, the manufacturer agreed to take the bike back and the following week they began to process the refund.
In short, the communication is a bit rubbish. Thanks m1stergeorge.
That seems to be one of the themes across reviews for both of the above stores (aside from delivery issues).
I've only just seen your post but I've been to Fitness Superstore today and pulled the trigger so hopefully things go ok. Fitness superstore failed to deliver to me on the agreed day several times and were useless, they repeatably blamed the carrier and did nothing to sort it out. After several weeks of being messed about & ignored I asked for a cancellation & refund which they refused, I ended up having to do a chargeback through my credit card.
Terrible service. I've used them a few times for some pretty big deliveries and each time they've delivered on time and the goods have been as advertised. So no complaints from me. I've never had to return anything so can't comment about that side of things. Cheers
Well, it's not going to plan so far.
Got an e-mail yesterday morning to say it would be delivered pm, so arranged time off to be there to receive delivery (eta was 3-6pm). 6pm came & went & I got a text, assume from the driver, to say it would be with me by 9pm. Nothing arrived.
I've text & rang the numbers I have this morning & have had no response at all so I've taken it up with Fitness Superstore. They've said they'll do what they can but I might not hear anything until Monday. Not a very good service when you've just spent £800; I understand it's heavy kit & is a 2-man job but there surely must be better alternatives than XPD when customers are spending significant amounts. Looks as if nothing has changed, the same happened many times to me. Fitness Superstore were helpful but couldn't answer why they continue to use such a poor company for high-value items. It seems quite common in this sector from what I have read reviews wise customer service in the uk is a joke...
I ordered some protein powder from myprotein, com yesterday and insteantly realised I'd ordered the wrong flavour - so, I went to cancel - and turns out you can't - you have to request a cancellation...what?? - anyway - filled in the form (as you can't ring them on a sunday) and that failed with a http 500 error -but managed to message them... anyway - got a reply back later on stating that my cancellation request had failed..!and I'd also ordered the correct flavour after I'd sent the cancellation message - so, looks like I'm getting 2 lots of protein as well as paying postage twice...

FS rang XPD this morning who undertook to ring me today, which they didn't of course. I checked the tracking website this afternoon & it had updated to say "carded" and "carded e-mail sent", meaning they'd attempted to deliver, timed 9:08am. I spoke to FS again & XPD hadn't mentioned this in their conversation at 10:00 am. When I got home there was no card through the door, nor have I received any further e-mails to this effect.
Speaking to FS earlier they say they are somewhat hamstrung for delivery companies due to the weight of the equipment & that the drivers will be paid for one delivery attempt, not any subsequent ones. So I'm assuming he hasn't bothered his arse to even attempt delivery but is trying to claim his fee.
