Hand Tremors
Think this is the right section for this........Does anyone else suffer from these? Ive suffered from these all my life and i think its a genetic condition as my Dad had them as well although alot more severe than me.
Normally its pretty low level but when i get stressed or anxious it can get pretty out of hand. Last weekend was probably the last straw for me with this. Id meet Carl Froch in my local chippy and one of the people there asked me to take photo for them on there phone. Straight away the shaking kicked in worse than normal and when they said stop shaking it just made it worse. Luckily another person helped out but when i got home i was pretty pissed off about it. This wasn't the first time this has happend as its kicked in a few times with work presentations and demonstrations. Also when it does happen i get plenty of smart alec comments like you got the DT's or not had you smack yet.
Been to the doctors a few times about it but they seem relectant to perscribe beta blockers which is what ive been told should help limit the shaking. General attitude seems to be to get on with it. One thing i think is happening though is it is getting worse with age which is slightly worrying. I used to suffer quite badly with hand tremors and like you suffered all the jokes about d.t's etc. however mine was eventually linked to a thyroid condition called Graves' disease. I eventually had a operation (about 15 years ago) to remove my thyroid and since then I have been totally tremor free.
