Skateboarding over 30s for keeping yourself fit.
Hi there, I know that it is not a traditional way to keep yourself in shape, but I want to share something that really makes me feel good and definitely is keeping fit. You cannot imagine how much sweat, while I am skateboarding data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Someone may argue that it is very easy to get injured, especially at this age, but my believe is that if you don't take unnecessary risks and do it wisely, it is not riskier than any other sport.I would like to share with whoever is interested to see what I am talking about a short video, that I made: Thanks for sharing, this is really inspiring. I wasn't particularly good at skateboarding now, but it doesn't look like there's any real good reason why I couldn't try again.
I'm guessing those bails hurt a lot more nowadays than they did back then, though. Thank you for the kind words, man. It is never too late to start doing something that you like. As I started I had to re-learn everything, but I guess it is like a riding a bicycle. Anyway nowadays there all kind of skateboards, if you are not eager to do tricks you can get a board with big soft wheels, just to push around and gaining speed, which is also a lot of fun. Fair play to you, I have the balance of an elephant on a pogo stick, tried skateboarding a few times, and spent more time on my butt data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Great video though data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 I guess some people naturally are better in keeping balance, but I am sure that it is not something that you cannot learn data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Glad that you like it and thanks for watching it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 excellent, skateboarding keeps you fit for sure!! i did it all my teens and into 20s. i would have steam coming off my head when going hard on a session, no joke data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
gradually gave it up (getting older and not healing as fast, work commitments, no-one to skateboard with as mates gave it up, no-where to skate, UK weather data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
i still have my board right behind me here. going to try get out on a few runs in 2018, nothing special , just pushing around , learning to ollie again, shuvits. can't see me ever taking it up as a regular thing again but i hope i can always keep my balance and cruisearound, great feeling I know what you mean my friend, it is very easy to give it up with the years. I was exactly in the same situation during the years. Getting older, job, responsibilities, afraid of injuries and stuff... Actually, first I got the skateboard, just to walk the dog with it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7but then you get hooked up and now I try to skate as much as I can. Me also don't have buddies to skate with, that's why I have started a youtube channel and filming data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 it is nice feeling, when you can share your skateboarding with somebody, it is kind a motivational and inspirational. What to say more... just go for it, I am sure that you will enjoy, doesen't have to be complicated tricks or something, ollies, shove its, cruising it totally fine to have a good time data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Bought my 1st long board a couple of years ago after not riding since the '70s.
Bought my second one last year as an upgrade.
I now ride them rather than walking or cycling anywhere (when its not chucking it down with rain anyway), fast, simply to upkeep, no need to lock them up, nowhere I cant go.
I'm over 50 data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Very inspirational, my friend. I hope to do the same at your age. And why not to able to pull out some tricks as well data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Hi, i am 33 right now, because of my weight seem to be overweight, i can just do the ollie within static place. The last time i enjoy skateboarding during my early 20s. The biggest trick in my life when i was 19 years old, perform kickflip to boardslide on the handrail 3 stairs.
