Yes it’s one of those things I had to try, despite being a chef for about 30 years there’s still so much I want to try out data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
I have got tonnes of pastrami left for, next couple of days I’m sure I will make more, next up is bacon I think, I have a whole pig due to be slaughtered in the next couple of weeks !!!
Then once I can get outside more I want to get into smoking, need to research buying a cheap smoker or making one. I recommend:Cold Smoker | ProQ Cold Smoke Generator - Buy Online UK
You can use them in any BBQ, or even in a cardboard box.
I kid you not:
ProQ Eco Cold Smoker Bundle Thanks for that, say I bought the above cold smoker could I use it in a metal dustbin with racking, then use this method Using a stove hot plate to hot smoke, and cook?
Just thinking of utilising the same equipment to do 2 jobs !! Yes, probably, but with the caveat that the Zinc plating can release toxic chemicals if it gets heated too hot.By which I mean burning temps, not hot plate ones.
I don't know what your budget is but if you want to hot and cold smoke, then something like this may suit:
ProQ Ranger Elite Hot & Cold Smoker Set - Food Smoking | Hot Smoked - Food Smoking | Hot Smoked Cheers, looks good, I may try the bin method as whole thing will cost £30 ish and if I use it enough upgrade data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 there’s so many things on the list Roccbox etc got to economise where possible as you said I think it’s unlikely for the galvanise to release toxic chemicals at the heat I would be using. Damn I just ditched one of those getting old house ready to rent!
Wasn’t suitable for new build data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Feeling so American
