Fast food portion sizes.
Not often I see TV ads as I record most stuff I watch and fast forward but I did notice that ads for burgers invariably show two burgers in one bun and other stuff, I believe one even has 8 rashers of bacon.KFC also seems to be bunging out bigger portions these days, I must admit they are not as big as the disgusting sizes of portions I have seen on some American food programs but in a time where obesity is a major problem this marketing attitude seems wrong.
Lets not forget the so called 'sharing' sizes of chocolate bars and crisps and the like, sharing? I don't think so, pigging? Absolutely. Have you been in a Maccy D's recently and seen how small their standard hamburger is? It comprises 13% of the recommended adult daily calorie intake. Their double burger "Big Mac" is 25%.Hardly something to worry about if it's part of a main meal. No I haven't for two reasons, the first I can no longer eat solid food and have not done so for about a decade now and two, I have only ever had one hamburger from Macdonalds and I thought it was absolutely disgusting and never wanted another. Generally speaking, you get less for your money now.Pretty much everything is smaller than it used to be, but for the same price, or more in a lot of cases.
But... chinese take aways hand out ridiculously large portion sizes, way too much for the average person. Google shrinkflation. Chocolates etc are getting smaller.
The truth about our shrinking snacks
More than 2,500 products 'have shrunk' A "sharing" pack is meant for sharing with others, what's the problem with that? You may as well rant about multi-packs just in case someone eats more than one of the packets. Ee by gum! Remember the olden days, when a Waggon Wheel was as big as yer head and a Curly Wurly was a long as the Manchester Ship Canal? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
I agree with the Chinese take away/delivery meals though, they are enormous. a chicken chow mein and egg fried rice could feed our street. Just got a McFlurry from McDonald's. They are now smaller and cheaper than they were. I was a little disappointed to be honest. in the US the potions seem to be getting bigger instead of smaller This is exactly why I don't hang around with witches and wizards.... You just never know...data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
