Do I Really Need A Tracker ?
I’m in the market for a new set of scales and I probably will buy a smart scaleMy first thought was to purchase a tracker and a set of scales that would talk to each other and send the information to Health in my iPhone 6s (not necessarily but something like a Fitbit tracker and the Fitbit scales.)
However, when I stood back and looked at the costs I wondered if I really need all that gear. While I know that the Apples Pedometer is inaccurate, research shows it could underestimate your steps by 21.5 percent per day, roughly 1,340 steps per day but research shows that a large amount of that is when you haven’t the phone with you. I am fit, I don’t drive so I walk a lot, I don’t do jogging or weight lifting. So do I need all those metrics? I’m inclined to think no!
So I’m wondering to myself, ‘do I actually need a tracker, would what real use would I get from it?’ )
I do want to keep a general check on my health and loose a bit of weight. So I’m wondering if there are apps out there that will tie into the scales and Apples Pedometer?Any ideas ? No, you don't need a tracker. For what you do a tracker would be a waste of money. I was coming to that conclusion myself. But if I spot a bargain then maybe I’ll treat myself
Would members recommend any particular scale. Or don’t touch that scale with a barge poll
Kevin I did buy a scale in the Amazon Prime Sale the Withings BodySmart Scale. However when the scales arrived the box said Nokia scales.
Does anybody know if there are any difference in these two scales?
I am aware that Withing sold their product range to Nokia but Nokia couldn’t make a go of it, messed up the software and sold it back to Withings.
Why do I ask? Well when the scales came they came in a Nokia box so I contacted Amazon and they immediately agreed to replace. However when the replacement came it was also in a Nokia box!
Now if I thought the scales were the same I would keep them as Amazon have offered me a £25 voucher as a goodwill offering. I would hope to squeeze some more out of them as they messed up twice.
One thing I did notice though while the scales came in a Nokia box the scales themselves had the Withings name on them
Anybody know what the difference is?
Kevin
