Changing Storage Heaters for Electric Rad's

Has anyone here fitted electric radiators instead of Storage Heaters? Any tips or advice on types or brands worth looking at? Looking at getting better heat and lower bills data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Any help would be great.

You want an oil filled type as they are more efficient.

Also get some reflective foil type insulation behind them to increase output.

You won't get lower bills by running normal electric heaters (oil filled, fan, radiant) on peak rate electricity vs storage heaters on Economy 7 (or equivalent).

You may be able to do something with air source or ground source heat pump devices (e.g. 1kW input gets 3kW of heat) - but the payback period would need investigating.Air source heat pumps explained - benefits, costs, savings, earnings, suitability

The storage heaters are presumably on a separate supply which is only live overnight. Fine for a storage heater which uses night time cheap electricity to heat up bricks and then give it out the following day. Not so good if you just swap the heater and do nothing else.
