Lots of talk about houses, but what about sheds? Anyone else have a solar powered shed? As well as saving electricity, an armoured cable running from the house to shed also costs quite a bit, especially if the shed is at the bottom of the garden. I have a long, thin garden so the expense of mains was an issue. Frustratingly there are a lot if tall trees blocking sunlight on my shed hence why I made a portable, adjustable stand. I have asked the council to trim the trees but I'm not holding my breath. Love this thread and would like some more info on a simple set up for my shed What would you like to know? I am a beginner yet my system works and there have been ZERO fires so far. Hi

A lot of the cheaper stuff is poor quality it not what it says it is. This kit had everything I needed and good instructions. All I did was add a cheap digital voltmeter so I can see what was going on. Hi

What type of battery did you use? Mine is for a golf buggy, I also charge a car jump start pack with it. If you need more storage the batteries for caravans are the best. The battery needs to match what you will be using electric for. If you spend a few hours in the shed, run lights, a radio etc you will need a bigger battery.
