You are correct - you are mistaken. Not sure what you mean when you say "the lyrics have now been rewritten to meet 2019 requirements". You are right about one thing though. It was one of the most successful failures of all time.
The follow up album "Arthur: Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire" was also a very patriotic record and dealt with socialism's failure to live up to the post war promises. Both albums offer a little bit of an England that no longer exist.

1. Most people don't buy newspapers. Social media is a bigger deal if you are technically savvy. I know a long list of people on no social media at all. I also know a lot of people who don't buy a newspaper, and some who don't buy newspapers, don't bother with social media and yet still have political views. And some who don't care about any of it.
2. Of those who do buy a newspaper, the reason why they do is complicated. It can be they like the horoscope, want something to read, want sports news, have always bought it, it's cheaper than a different one etc.
