My thought too, the guy voted against Labour and never was anything more than just an MP. Why didn't he join the Socialist Labour party with his chum Scargill?
Edit: For that matter if the UK electorate has been waiting for this guy for some long etc, why hasn't the Socialist Labour Party ever picked up any votes or support? UKIP got 4 million in the GE and won the EU elections. Socialist Labour? Only ever a minor fringe party.
