Isn't that the case with any official 'gathering', regardless of politics?Suggesting a requirement to show ID to vote is different to having a pass to enter an event.

You have to show ID at a Labour party event, to throw away some rubbish at a Labour council tip, I have to show ID to pick up a parcel. You need ID to get benefits. You need ID to get a bottle of whisky from Amazon. I don't get their objection to ID for a vote.
