It's probably Putin's handiwork. Anyway referring to Russia as the Soviet Union is redundant.
"Whoever does not miss the Soviet Union has no heart. Whoever wants it back has no brain." - Vladimir Putin.

Statement coming from May at 4:30 apparently.

No doubt it's down to Russia but they'll dismiss any allegations as "Western anti-Russian propaganda" as they always do. If Russia wasn't armed to the teeth we could just ignore them and let them stew in their own nastiness.

Corbyn's response:

17:33
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn's response to Theresa May

"We need to continue seeking a robust dialogue with Russia on all the issues dividing our countries, both domestic and international - rather than simply cutting off contact and simply letting tensions and divisions get worse, and potentially even more dangerous.

"We're all familiar with the way huge fortunes, often acquired in the most dubious circumstances in Russia, sometimes connected with criminal elements, have ended up sheltering in London and trying to buy political influence in British party politics.

"Meddling in elections, as the Prime Minister put it, and there has been over £800,000 worth of donations to the Conservative Party from Russian oligarchs and their associates."

He faced cries of "shame" as he made his response.

He's wrong on appeasing Russia (looks like Putin wants a row with the UK, and it will be Putin who decides when to ratchet the tension down), but he was right to bring up the donations taken by the Tories from Russian oligarchs. Putin is a dangerous foe to take on, I'm not sure May has the mettle to take him on successfully. Especially if Putin has embarrassing information about the Tory Party.
