↑ This.

Since the Strat and Les Paul are so different in so many ways you should really try and compare them and decide from there. The weight alone is enough to put some people off.

That said, it's my preferred guitar.

Is that a pick dispenser above the control knobs?

I must remember to screw one to the front of my guitar in case I'm ever more than a cable length from one data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I have a dispenser on the back of the headstock of all mine, really handy. Picks seem to have a life of their own.

I could do with a selection of plectrums, anyone link me to some decent ones, preferably free post.
It's a mine field out there, want some decent one's.
TIA

Amazon or eBay? Should be able to get assorted packs of various thickness so you can see which suit you best.

Personally speaking, I love the Dunlop Tortex ones.A bit of a strange texture makes them nice and grippy, without feeling rough and abrasive.Reasonably priced too.I usually bag an assortment off Amazon.

Ok thanks, went with these.
Thanks for the recommendations!

10 packs are around £3-£4 on eBay when you narrow down your preference.

Used to use Jazz III, but use Dunlop .73 all the time now

It's certainly worth trying a few different ones.My favourites are the Dunlop Big Stubbies and the Ibanez Grip Wizard (sand grip, but the rubber ones are also nice).
