Recommend cheap kindle books?
I know there are a few old threads on this but they're more than 2 years old!Got the wife a Kindle for her birthday in October, and I use the Kindle app on my phone.Looking for some decent books to read.
The wife is into crime books, Grisham etc.I like them too, also sports bios.Sadly I'm also a cheap sod so good bargains are what I'm after.
Got a few recently that were either free or cheap;
"Confessions of a GP" - 99p
"Let's Get it On" (John McCarthy's autobiography) - free
I tried scanning the free books on the Amazon store but there's bloody millions of them! I forget whop posted this originally, but:
Free Books for Your Kindle | eReaderIQ.co.uk I use this site too, and can personally recommend the following titles that are currently reduced:
Life of Pi...£0.20p
The Sisters Brothers...£0.99p
The Snow Child...£1.49p
Whilst they don't fit the crime or sports genres, all 3 are fantastic books and an absolute steal at these prices data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Errrm, just go to the Kindle store on Amazon and look at the top 100 free/paid books! data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 Lots of the top rated free books on amazon are Mills & Boon mummy-porn books.
Unless that's what you're into, I'd rather ask folk here for recommendations.
data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 The Project Gutenberg site has 1000's of "classic" books/authors, all free. I have been reading Arthur Conan Doyle lately, brilliant books. Another site for freebies is - feedbooks.com Ha, brilliant.
My suggestion wasn't daft, it takes about a minute to look at the top 100 paid/free list. I do it every so often, you'll find the recommendations like "Life Of Pi" up there along with some decent ones. Sure, there's dross but the titles are usually obvious for mental filtering.
Keep an eye on Hot UK Deals. Also if you're on Facebook then you can "like" the Amazon Kindle page, and you get notified when there's a sale on. They had one recently for Christmas, managed to get a load for £2 or less. Just a bump to say that make sure you create your own daily email based on specific genres - I have about 18 books queued on my Kindle already. You can just look through Amazon for kindle books in the lowest price range:
Amazon.co.uk: Low Prices in Electronics, Books, Sports Equipment & more
Not a huge selection and like you say there might not be the titles you are looking for. Maybe the best suggestion is to try not to be so cheap? data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 The hundred year old man who climbed through a window.
Try it you won't be disappointed.Only 20p, but the best 20p you will spend.
