Dave, thanks for the photos.
Did you own a kindle before? If so, which one and how does it compare?
I have had each generation of Kindle, but stopped buying after the PW1.It does everything I want except.........
physical page buttons.I like the fact the Voyage has brought these back into fashion. How do they feel and respond?

I've had Kindle Keyboard, Paperwhite 1&2 (not much difference) and now voyage. The voyage is definitely the best, but then so it should be. That said, it's early days (48 hrs) and the differences are not that great. I guess I'd compare the Paperwhite 1&2 and voyage like iPhone 5&5s and the 6, they all work well and are great. Best thing so far for me is the size. It's just perfect. And then the case! Hope this helps a little.

Mine arrived on Tuesday and disappointingly it rattles when handled. Poor build quality and the squeeze to page turn is erratic. Haptic feedback is also erratic. Amazon have been great though and have a new unit on its way to me. I have 30 days to return the faulty unit. Its tiding my journey through "The Martian" over for now until I can switch the new unit.
Its undeniably a beautiful device but I can't have any little flaws at this price point. Hopefully my new one will be top notch. Need a nice leather sleeve for mine though. I don't like permanent cases. I just want it to be kept safe in a bag and then I'll handle it naked if I am using it.

Dave and Hillskill, thanks for the feedback.
I use my PW1 every day, and though I hate the touchscreen for the page turns, I can't justify £169 for the haptic feedback buttons.
If only my wifes, K4 would die data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7
Then she could have the PW1, and I could buy a Voyage

I love using it naked but hate the finger smudges on the back. The Amazon case is very minimalistic and is secured in place magnetically. Easily removed. Hope your new one is problem free

Hi all,
I bought the wife a kindle keyboard a while ago. I noticed she's started using her iPhone so she can read in the dark as to not disturb me.
She reads on a black background with white lettering.
Do any of the next generation allow black background with white lettering obviously backlit.
Thanks
Craig

Not that I'm aware of. I have the new Kindle Voyage. What it does is automatically dim the backlight when reading in the dark.

Do the kindles which are backlit still have a none glare screen.
Can you read it on the beach say in the sun?
Thanks
