Free Kindle Book With Prime Question

Does anyone know the free book you get with Prime once a month if the book remains on your Kindle after that month is over or do they delete it?

This is the first month that I have used Kindle First after only just finding out about it, but it does say it becomes part of your permanent library, so I guess that means we get to keep them.

I noticed when I took this months book the last fre was still on there although I did not care for it I got about 20% and gave up although others last time I looked give it good reviews.
