Astronomy books
I have always been fascinated by astronomy and have basic knowledge in the subject. However, even tough I read pretty much every day, it has been a long time since I've read anything astronomy related. I have been following big stories that hit the net from time to time, but I keep thinking about reading more.I'm on a lookout for a good book on the subject, talking about recent discoveries and theories. Far away worlds, black holes, dwarf stars, pulsars, etc. More advanced than explaining basics but less than advanced mathematics involved. Something that is not too heavy and advanced... and recent.
Anything worth checking out? I know this old, so ignore if no longer relevant.
You need to be looking for astrophysics books rather then astronomy books. Astro goes into the science of the sky, whilst astronomy books just tell you what to look for and where and include a small paragraph about the more interesting night targets.
