Sure, if you watch the video there are a couple of shots of what I assume is a revs/power curve. You can definitely see variation - neither being linear and the peaks occurring at different points.
I suspect the higher RON value is important, the additives less so looking at power not engine life etc.
I'm generally not fussy about what I feed my GTi but I did shy away from asda fuel in my old Merc after it ran lumpy following a full tank there. It could be coincidence or just that tankful or just that pump but I don't drive that way often so it's simple to avoid.

In my 08 3ltr diesel anything other than Esso results in less mpg.
Same with the missus' Aygo. Though most are the same until she has to put Morrison's in. That stuff is a lean mix of water and lighter fluid!

I was getting flashing glow plug light, diagnostic said turbo issue. I am trying the Ultimate BP in the Ford TDCI 2005, feels smoother but that could ''all bein the mind'' we shall see if the fault returns, all good at the mo.

Shell v power in a few of my motors seemed to give it more oomph
A tanker driver mate once said fill up every now and then with it to give the engine a (??????) (I forget what he said) but otherwise it isn’t worth it I was told
Never ever use asda fuel mostly tesco, shell, esso

Looks like you are using mainly 'named fuels' anyway Ned, I have been on Morrisons supermarket fuel, lets see how the BP Unltimate effects my recurring glow plug turbo alarm,

In that case. I doubt a change in diesel will resolve the issue.

The glow plug light can flash as an error, in my case the diagnostic reported a prob with the turbo, it can often be gunged up I;m told. I thought that BP Ultimate might clean things out (as it reports it does)

If your turbo is clogged with oil, it needs it’s seals changed. Might want to get it refurbed before it destroys itself.

I hear the flashing glowplug is a common alarm with the elderly Ford TDCI but not easy to diagnose. Can be a host of things and throwing money at all the possibilities may not be worth it. All running well just now, done oil and filters change and I just thought I treat it to some nice gas.
