Not all car interfaces / ECU's are available via odb2 so may require specialist software.

Hi . How did you get on with this ? The exact same thing has happened to me today . Did you just need to replace the pipe ?                                                                         https://www.avforums.com/attachments/qq-jpg.780305/

Yep, I just replaced the pipe.Cost £62.23 from a Nissan dealer.I did try and shop around, but the price differences were negligible plus they held it in stock so I was able to collect and fit the part within a day.The fitting was simple enough, even for me to manage data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

The engine management light did come on, so I bought a cheap bluetooth OBD2 reader from eBay.But I failed to research properly as the Bluetooth ones aren't supported on iPhones.

So had to use a laptop, with a lot of faff getting the software to work on the laptop.Once I did get the software loaded on the laptop, it would connect to the car, but appeared to be more of a read-only capability...The reset options all appeared to not work, however the management light did go off, eventually - however I have no idea how I did it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.I then also read that the ODB2 reader doesn't support diesels...

Faults stored in the Ecu will sometimes reset them selves after the car has been started x amount of times without the fault present.

I mentioned in an earlier post that the light should go out by itself.

Glad it's all done and dusted data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

I needed to get rid of the engine warning light because of the new MOT rules. I bought i
LC OBD OBD2 on Amazon for less than £9. Fantastic. Took no more than 3 minutes to plug in, connect to Bluetooth and use the app to clear the light.

I trust you fixed the underlying fault too?data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

No.The light has been there 6 months without any known problems. The two error codes were to do with the glow plug and something to do with the accelerator.

Ah that’s ok then data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7 The light must just come on for fun then data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Glow plugs don’t usually throw an error light, but will log an error code in memory....well, not in BMW world anyway.

That EML will soon come back on.
