Tyre tread depth
I have myself a nice draper tyre tread depth gauge the middle of the tyre seems to be wearing down a little bit more than the outer side the middle is 3.6mm but it looks awful close to the wear block indicator, are all tyre block indicator blocks 1.6mm ? my tyres are Goodyear EfficientGrip.I dont know why its just the drivers tyre thats worn like this all other ones are fine. Sounds like over-inflation if it's wearing more in the middle. You may find the wear blocks are at 2mm, but it will tell you on the side wall - Normally Treadwear 2mm or similar. Hi,
Quick question first what size is this tyre ?
If a tyre is wearing in the center it's normally due to over inflation.
As for the tred wear indecator blocks most tyres I would say yes but some of the newer ones also show a block that is 3 mm witch is a indecator to showwater will not be displaced as good but they have a rain drop on the edge of the tred to show that
Hope that has helped you I would of thought straight away that it was over inflation but all the other tyres are fine, I do it myself once a month.
Tyre Size: 205 55 16 V
I did look on the side of the tyre but couldn't see anything saying about the tread block. Starting from the left to right: 4.0mm 3.6mm 3.8mm3.8mm
EDIT: I also see if i check a bit further down the tyre then there is a bit more tread where is was 3.6 it would be 3.9mm, why would that be?
Picture isn't that great. https://www.avforums.com/attachments/20180527_112755-jpg.1021603/ I don't know whether it's an asymmetric tyre but there looks to be very little tread on the far right outside? Even though the tread gauge is giving 3.8mm in the major groove. No its not a asymmetric tyre, I think the picture might be misleading. But i will check to see if it is low. Took some pictures with a camera this time. Looks worn down.
Think i am going to have to go get the tyre replaced as the mot is due in a couple of weeks.

Going to have to get it done before the mot as i guess that will be a fail?
