The tyres from MyTyres got as far as Unna in Germany and seemed to get stuck in limbo. They haven't moved for a week.I got in touch and they very quickly accepted that they had been lost and have refunded my money.
The second delivery from Tyreleader arrived on Tuesday last, and was rejected (I was at work).Since then, I've had a frustrating time trying to ascertain how many tyres they sent. They only seem to check their ticketing system once a day at best. The tyres ended up at the local DPD depot.TL have repeatedly said that they only sent out two tyres for the initial delivery and suggested that the two extra ones were meant for someone else.
Something I thought a bit odd was that the 225/40 tyres that arrived last week didn't have any address labels on at all.Only the 255/35 ones did.
Whilst walking home from the supermarket this morning, I suddenly figured it out: the extra tyres I received last Friday were the ones from MyTyres that apparently went missing. My reasoning:
1. The shipping label on the 225/40s from MyTyres fell off/got eaten by rodents/was otherwise lost. This explains why the tracking stopped working once the tyres reached Unna.
2. Somehow these tyres ended up on the same lorry as the one which had the 255/35s from Tyreleader.
3. TL sent me a scan of the receipt/signature from last Friday. It says that two items were delivered.
4. When the courier came to my house last Friday, he knew that he had to deliver tyres, and there were two items.
5. The courier delivered two items, and they were signed for.
6. "Item" actually meant "tyre".The courier thought it meant "a pair of tyres bound together with plastic film" (as did I).
7. So despite not having an address label on, the 225/40 tyres actually ended up at the right house!
8. In the intervening week, the delivery guy has not turned up asking for a pair of tyres to be returned to him.So no-one is expecting tyres that haven't yet been delivered.
Personally, I can't think of any other explanation.Consequently, I drove over to the DPD depot this afternoon (after filling up with diesel and paying a total of £80.80 for just over 61 litres of fuel) to pick up the tyres that were rejected on Tuesday. They are now on my car, along with the 255/35s.
So now I have to get in touch with MyTyres to tell them that the tyres are un-lost and can they please come and pick them up.
Incidentally, I would normally have used Blackcircles (who I think are excellent), but for some reason no-one other than MT and TL sell F1 Asymmetric 3s in 225/40 R19 size. I use Tyres on the drive. Excellent company , do exactly what they say they will do.
Cheap Tyres & Free Mobile Tyre Fitting.
Used them three weeks ago for a set of 4 tyres and the service provided was excellent.
I cannot agree with you with regards to Black Circles. Absolute cowboys in my personal experience. Booked for a specific day and they called and cancelled saying they didn't have the tyres. Why take the booking then ??
Re scheduled the booking . When the fittereventually arrived , he waslate & he was rude . He offeredno apology and started arguing. When i showed him the online booking confo specifying the time for which I paid extra he got even more aggressive . I called customer services whilst he was here and they were not interested. Customer service was utterly useless . I asked them to call the fitter and talk to him and they declined. Turns out the fitters are all self employed and nothing to do with black circles. I asked him was he going to fit the 4 tyres or not and he said because I had argued with himfor so long thatif he did fit them he would be late for his next appointment. I reminded him that it was he who was late , notme. He stomped offgot in his van and drove off .
Their attitude stank and I am able to stand my ground being a big bloke. That kind of behaviour is unacceptable. Imagine if that had been your mum, wife or daughter.
I WILL NEVER use Black Circles ever again , period. I've used tyre leader a few times without any complaints, takes a few days to arrive but saving was huge for my tyres VS anywhere in the country and no where stocks my sislze anyway so you always need to wait a day.
Can't comment on their customer service but I've never had any problems. I've sent tyre to both a garage and just delivered to my work and house, all have been fine!
