I may have spoken too soon about the reliability of my wife's CLS. Just booked it in to the main dealer for the same problem that afflicted her C-Class.

Bugger data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7

Main dealer "fixed" the problem on Thursday - replaced the exhaust back pressure sensor. That's exactly what they did with her C-class in 2015, funnily enough.

Didn't use the car on Friday or Saturday.

This morning she went to her Mum's, a quick 25 miles down the M61.

Phoned me about 15 minutes later to say it's happened again, she's stopped on the hard shoulder to re-start the engine data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.

Carries on, gets to the East Lancs Road - same again data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.

It’s not the dpf being full is it, or maybe the dpf sensor?

Vac pipes, pressure sensors and the electronic control of the turbo ( only available with the turbo on the biturbo) Id you have a coolant leak its very often the fuel filter bracket that has coolant pipes moulded into it.

Never did find out the cause, we just got rid of it, which is bit of a shame, because she really liked it.

DPF unlikely, commuting 30 miles each way 5 days a week, mainly motorway, drives like she stole it data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.

The stuff SteveTDCI mentions, I don't know, but given the C250 issues previously, we just lost faith in the brand.

So in May we traded it in for an XE 25d AWD, 11 months old and not much more than half price data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7. Had a great 2,800 mile holiday in it in June, down to Tuscany, over the Med to Elba, great to drive and really comfortable, no problems.

No more Mercs for us, sad to say. Thanks for the suggestions though data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7.
