A case of their questionable looks v risk of it happening v cost of a simple repair = didn't bother. if you know how to park and not kerbed an alloy ever why would you even consider rim protectors? they look ridiculous.
as for the just in case. the cost to fix said alloy once every 20 years is quite minimal and probably less than one of these sets would cost.
seems like a no brainer to me. Long time since the last post but shadowchrome rims as I have on my car are quite expensive to repair as something like 17 different coats of paint to do properly.Most reputable repair places here (Australia) want $A300 - $A450 per rim!
