i have had two fabias. i used to have the mark one fabia estate..shares many same parts as VW polo, VW golf.. i have a mark two niw.. the brake pads are the same as a mark four golf, beetle, the centre dash centrepiece is the same as a mark 5 golf. the window switches are the same as many other vw group cars..one of my switches has been replaced witha vw golf switch.. mechanically its the same as other vw group cars..the fuse box panel is the same as a polo...just turned upside down.. mine is 11 years old and is still going strong...

Fabian estate is 505 litres.. not bad for a small car..its as big if not bigger than many family cars..

it makes sense as a.practical, reliable, spacious car with proven vw.mechanicals..it fits the op's requirements..i.was.24 when i bought my first fabia..each to their own.. it looks like a mini.octavia.estate the mark1..if style is important there's the.monte Carlo version
